Sept. 2 Always know 2 ways out – wherever you are.
Sept. 3 Smoke alarms save lives.  Get one today!
Sept. 4 Live in housing with fire sprinklers.  Sprinklers save lives.
Sept. 5 Cooking and drinking is as dangerous as driving while drinking

Sept. 8 Keep pizza boxes off the top of stoves.  More than one fire has started by a burner being turned on.
Sept. 9 Smoke alarms can only save your life if they are working.
Sept. 10 When the alarm sounds, get out.  You never know when it’s real.
Sept. 11 The most common killer in fires is smoke inhalation, not burns
Sept. 12 Do not overload your outlets or extension cords.  They can overheat and start a fire.

Sept. 15 Use the stairs to evacuate, not the elevator.  You might get trapped.
Sept. 16 Don’t run your extension cords under carpets.  They can become frayed and start a fire.
Sept. 17 Use a lid to put out a grease fire. Water will spread the fire.
Sept. 18 Watch that butt!  Use ashtrays.
Sept. 19 Learn how to use a fire extinguisher before the fire breaks out.

Sept. 22 After a party, look for cigarette butts in the cushions.
Sept. 23 Most fatal fires happen at night.  Get up, get out, stay out when the alarm sounds.
Sept. 24 Cook your dinner, not the kitchen.
Sept. 25 Smoke alarms – got batteries?
Sept. 26 How will you get out?  Know two ways, always.

Sept. 29 Stay in the kitchen while cooking – always!
Sept. 30 Never leave a burning candle unattended.  Never .
